Okayak Motor Mount Set for JAYKAY e-Fin 2.0
Combining the JAYKAY e-Fin 2.0 with the Okayak folding motor mount creates a unique propulsion system for kayaks that appeals to both beginners and experienced paddlers—without any complicated modifications.
Included in the set:
- Okayak Motor Mount
- includes a compatible JAYKAY adapter
Whether you’re gliding leisurely across the lake or planning longer trips, the combination of the JayKay Fin 2.0 and our Okayak kayak mount gives you the power you need without overloading your kayak. The adapter is designed to be installed in just a few simple steps and provides a secure hold—even in strong currents or wind.
About the adapter:
A kayak typically does not have a fin box for mounting the JAYKAY e-Fin 2.0. Mounting it under the boat using a strap is cumbersome and must be done on land; launching the boat into the water requires a minimum water depth. The strapped-on motor remains under the boat for the entire trip and significantly increases drag when the motor is turned off, e.g., when the battery is dead. There is a risk that the rigidly strapped-on motor will be damaged, get caught, or be lost if it touches the bottom.
OKayak’s new electric motor mount is designed for boats—particularly kayaks or paddleboats—equipped with a rudder. The new foldable mount attaches to the rudder’s shaft, positioning the electric motor behind the rudder. Initially, this solution was tested with the widely used Prijon steering system, but other steering systems of similar design may also be compatible, as es are a total of 6 additional holes es mount head, allowing you to find the best possible position both vertically and horizontally.
The Okayak mount offers the perfect solution for quickly and easily attaching the Finn motor to the steering system using a folding mechanism, allowing you to retrieve the motor with a line while underway. The mount is designed so that its angle can be adjusted in 5 steps, enabling you to align the motor perfectly horizontally depending on the type of boat.
In the raised position (standby), the rope can be secured using the steering system’s clamping device so that the raised motor is out of the water. When the motor mount is fully retracted, the motor can remain in place without being secured by the rope (transport/parking position). The boat is not otherwise modified or damaged by drilling holes, except for the one-time installation of an extended screw shaft into the rudder mount.
