A small change with a big impact
Dear JayKay community,
during the winter time we had informed you that we would be able to deliver by now. Now, we regret to have to inform you that we are not quite ready.
Two months ago we had the goal to repair only minor discrepancies in the software. We had problems with the brake settings and regulation of the braking power but also with the charging function of the e-truck which was not reliable enough. We were able to repair both software functions. At the beginning of February, we took our boards to the ISPO to have it thoroughly tested by the visitors. The feedback we received was soley positive. The only drawback we discovered repeatedly, was the function of the ring control via arm gesture. It seemed like the ring was less user-friendly than we had thought.
Immediately after the ISPO, we decided to make the control system more user-friendly.
The following changes have been made:
The JayKay ring is no longer gesture-controlled! The button for the gyro sensor is replaced by a small rotary knob. If it is turned upwards, it accelerates, turned downwards, it slows down. When released, the knob automatically switches to the starting position.
This is the last important piece of the jigsaw that will complete the huge list of developments.
A prototype of the ring is now being produced. After concluding the testing phase, we will be able complete the certification within a short time.
We would like to thank you sincerely for your support in the last months / years! The snow is slowly disappearing all over Germany and spring is already around the corner – we can’t wait to skate with you in to the summer!
If you have further questions, just send us an email and we will contact you.
